Mike has decided to have two Game Nights at the shop this month. The first is Friday the 21st. The second is Saturday the 29th.
Lets try to get something cool planned for the 29th. &caugh& Necromunda *caugh*
We also have Flames of War Day October 15th.
In other news, I got with Mike and have made a few changes to the game corner again. We now have a sign dedicated to the game club. It is hung over the window to the kitchen. The hope is to keep the board updated with current events for the group.
I have also added more items to the store terrain corner.
Items of itnterest:
Jim's 28mm space corridor set
Darren's 15mm barb wire set
Some 40kish scatter terrain
Most of it is in the cabinet but I have started storing stuff along the floor level holes as well.
Take a chance and browse through it all. We have a lot of great stuff in there.

Store Terrain
I have been working with Mike to make our little gaming corner a lot easier to use. Mike and Bob moved the cabinet into the corner. It was set aside for us to use but never got utilized. I am starting the process of moving most of the smaller store terrain items into that area. The bins will be labeled and should make it easy to quickly setup a cool table.
I don't have a complete list of items yet but here is what we found today.
Rubber JR cobblestone roads
Winter and summer trees
Some HO scale track sections
Some HO scale buildings
A nice collection of European village houses.
A box of lava rocks
a box of bugs...
A bunch of battlefield in a box hills
Battlefield in a box soviet houses
battlefield in a box bunker set
Darren's road set.
Green felt drop cloths
Some other smaller items and random stuff. I know there is a lot more in the store and hopefully we can get all the little stuff organized for people to use.
I know a lot of people have donated stuff but the following is what I have so far.
Darren (roads)
Alan (JR roads)
Mike (most of the items)
If you want to lend the group some items or just need to make some room at home then let me or Mike know and we can find a place for it.
I also plan to catalog the big stuff and setup some kind of list with pictures for reference and put that by the cabinet as well. We played FOW on a cool Normandy board I have never seen before. I know we have lots more stuff in various places.
I'll work on this when I can but it will take a while to get everything together.

Battletech Event 8/27/11
Excerpt from email:
Hi everyone,
Mike suggested I post on this group. I'm running a Battletech event at Bobe's at 11 AM on Saturday, August 27. The "theme" is TRO3050 mechs. The configs do not have to be from TRO3050 but the mechs should be if possible. If you need record sheets or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Hope to see you there.
Thanks,
Ben

Specific Game Days
We are going to start implementing a new system to get everyone together with like minded players more often. Each weekend will have a theme. Then you don't have to setup a game and work out your schedule with a specific person. Just show up and know that a few players should be there that weekend. This has worked well for the Hero Clickers and I wanted to put together a similar system for us.
The first official weekend will be September 17th. Every third Saturday of the month will be for Flames of War. I think we can set a start time of 10:00 am. That should get most of the games done by the time the clickers show up at 3:00 pm. We have a ton of FOW players in the area and I think if we give them a set time and place then we will see more of them on a regular basis.
This does not mean you can't run another game on that day. Space might be limited depending on the turnout but we don't want to restrict people from playing other games.
I am trying to work out the details for other set themes but I need everyone's feedback. Let me know what you'd like to see and we can get it setup.

Why a blog?
We have had a horrible breakdown in communication with the group. I can't keep up with all the different places that need an update. This blog will be for official announcements and events. Chatter can stay in the yahoo group or the facebook group. In order to automate everything I may need to get everyone to move from the facebook group to a Facebook page I am working on. Groups do not have all the features that pages do. Some important ones are creating events and automatic from the blog to facebook. The goal is to unite the group and allow everyone to get the information in the way that works best for them.
Here are some planned examples:
Yahoo group
Facebook page
twitter
Google calendar
Facebook events
I just did most of this for the CorSec page so it should work if we change to the facebook page. Once it is completed events should appear in both facebook and google caledar. Blog posts will automatically be reposted to facebook and twitter. That is the plan.
